How to change the REAL-COMP dial-up number in Houston
If you have a high speed internet connection on the computer from which you dial in it is preferable to connect through the internet. Please call REAL-COMP technical support to find out how.
How to change the telephone number in KoalaTerm:
Open your REAL-COMP connection so that you are looking at the KoalaTerm window. It will attempt to dial the old number - just ignore it.
In the upper left hand corner of the KoalaTerm window click on Connection, and then click on Settings...
When the KoalaTerm Settings window comes up click on the Communication tab located in the middle at the top of the window.
Now, in the lower left hand corner of the KoalaTerm Settings window change the current Number to 18772429683.
Click on OK.
In the upper left hand corner of the KoalaTerm window click on Connection, and then click on Save.
When you get out of the program and back in it will now dial the correct number.
How to change the telephone number in HyperTerminal:
Open your REAL-COMP connection so that you are looking at the HyperTerminal Connect window.
Click on the Modify... button.
The Properties window should now appear.
In the middle of the Properties window change the Phone number to 18772429683 and click on OK.
Now you can click on Dial on the Connect screen.
Be sure to say Yes if the program asks you if you want to save any changes.
How to change the telephone number in Procomm:
Open your REAL-COMP connection so that you are looking at the main Procomm screen.
Hit ALT-D on your keyboard to get to the dialing directory.
Hit R on your keyboard to get to revise an entry.
Hit 1 and then <ENTER> on your keyboard to revise the first entry.
When it asks for Name: just hit <ENTER> on your keyboard.
When it asks for Number: type 18772429683 and hit <ENTER> on your keyboard.
The program will then ask for another series of information (e.g. Baud, Parity, Data Bits, etc.). Just hit <ENTER> on your keyboard at each of these prompts until it asks Save entry 1 to disk?. At this point hit Y on your keyboard to save the new number.
You should now be back at the Dialing Directory screen with the updated number in slot 1. You can now type 1 and hit <ENTER> on your keyboard to dial in to REAL-COMP.
How to change the telephone number in other programs:
There are literally hundreds of different programs that could be used to dial in to REAL-COMP. We have covered the three most common programs above, but if you have any other program you just need to be sure to change the old REAL-COMP dial in number from 7135861296 to 18772429683. Be sure to save any changes, and your connection should now work normally.
